Wildlife and Nature:
Look at www.wildlifetrust.org.uk/dorset/reserves for all the information you need on the various sites in Dorset.
Kingcombe Meadows: This caused much national interest when it came on the open market in the late 1980’s because it had been untouched by all modern farming methods. With its unimproved grassland, ancient hedgerows, green lanes, ponds and streams it remains rich in its variety of grasses, herbs, lichens, butterflies and fungi.
Powerstock Common: This near to Kingcombe Meadows is also well worth a walk.
Badgers: If you would like to observe badgers try www.badgerwatchdorset.co.uk which is not far away.
