Visit England inspect and grade our properties on an annual basis. The Five Star Award combined with the Gold Award is the highest accolade that they can give to a Self Catering Property and covers all aspects of your business. Judging covers the website and customer care along with the property being judged for a wide variety of aspects including:Space, lighting, fixtures and fittings, cleanliness, soft furnishings, outside space etc. In March 2014 we maintained these two awards for the coming year.
South West England Tourism Excellence Awards 2008 - 2009 Gold
While this award was won some time ago now, it was a huge accolade to win GOLD for the largest tourism area in England amidst some very stiff competition. We hope our standards have remained as high as they were then and that we would hold our own were we to enter again in the future.
Green Tourism Silver Award:
Dove House and Swallows held this award for several years but we have not continued to remain members of Green Tourism for various reasons. However our ethos remains the same and we are, in fact, doing even more than we were when we held this award and we believe were we to reapply now with our new biomass boiler system and other things in place we might well qualify for the Gold Award.
