Kate Sheppard
Kate has lived and worked locally for many years. She has cooked for us since we first opened Dove House and we have had nothing but praise for her service and food.
Kate cooks for all ranges of occasion locally, and is responsible for the food when Prince Charles visits Poundbury!!
She can do simple ready prepared meals for when you return from a long day out and about, or a 'drop off' special occasion dinner. Rebecca Green
Rebecca Green has recently come on board to fill the gap left by our very popular Mike Crankshaw (who has sadly decided to have a career change) along with Andrew James (below). Rebecca is extremely popular locally and consequently very busy.
Rebecca provides excellent chefs who will come to the house and prepare and serve your selected menu. Feedback has been excellent but she does require early booking during the more popular weeks, particularly for anything at the weekends. www.rebecca-green-catering.co.uk. We took their advice and arranged for one of their recommended in house caterers to cook my birthday meal - Rebecca Green Catering - and to say that it was delicious just does not do it justice...I have not tasted better even in Michelin Star restaurants! (Feb '19)
Both of our cooks are happy to discuss exactly what you want for your varied group, and the price you want to pay and work with you to achieve your requirements. We did not want to offer a handful of set menus at set prices, so we feel very lucky to have them all on board.
Please remember that they are both very busy locally and cannot be guaranteed to be available at short notice. We highly recommend you talk to them early on even if it is just to book a date and the details are left until later.
We hope we have provided a good variety of budgets for you to work with and that one of the above will be able to help out with any catering requirements you have during your stay.
COOK: The Shop
There is a Cook Shop in dorchester if you just want a pre prepared meal while you are styaing. They will deliver free to Dove House for orders of £50 or more. DORSET WINE SHOP:
The Dorset Wine Shop in nearby Poundbury stocks a fabulous selection of wines and will offer any advice needed if required. They will deliver free of charge to Dove House and Swallows and as long as given enough notice the order will be awaiting you on arrival.
